Dr. Marinda Li Wu Ph.D., ACS Fellow

Dr. Wu is Board Chair of the Chinese American Chemical Society and was 2013 Past President of ACS. She worked many years in research for Dow, where she earned 7 patents, and in business for Dow Plastics. She subsequently held management roles at small companies including "Science is Fun!" which she founded to interest young students in science.

Dr. Wu has held numerous other ACS leadership roles including Board of Directors, Councilor, and many national and local committees (including local WCC Chair four times).

Dr. Wu is an ACS Fellow and was recently honored with the ACS Radding Award. She has co-edited three ACS Symposium Books and authored over 70 articles, book chapters and corporate reports. She has been a role model to many women and Asian chemists, invited to speak around the world. She received a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she serves on the Chemistry Alumni Advisory Board, and a B.S. from The Ohio State University.
