Kinetic and Mechanistic Insights into Heterogeneous Catalysis: Insights into Porous Materials

: [CATL] Division of Catalysis Science & Technology

The elucidation of kinetic and mechanistic information over catalytic surfaces is paramount to the development of new and more efficient catalysts. A wide range of experimental and theoretical tools are now available to kinetically characterize catalytic systems both in-situ and ex-situ. This symposium will provide a platform for sharing insights into how best to measure and utilize kinetic and mechanistic information across all aspects of heterogenous catalysis.

Operating cycle of NO in Pd/zeolites for passive NOx adsorption
Pd/zeolites (Pd/BEA, Pd/CHA and Pd/ZSM-5) are touted to be the most suitable materials for passive NOx adsorption. This is due to the presence of multiple Pd sites such as Pd+2, Pd+1, [PdOH]+ and [Pd-O-Pd]+2 which are active for low temperature NOx adsorption…
