Dr. XIANGYU JIE

Dr Xiangyu Jie (Michael) obtained his DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry at University of Oxford. Thereafter, he has been elected as a Junior Research Fellow in Chemistry at Merton College, University of Oxford. His research interests centre on energy and environmental sectors in heterogeneous catalysis, new-generation materials for hydrogen production and storage, fossil fuel decarbonization, microwave-initiated catalysis, carbon dioxide activation and utilization. In a recent advance, he and the team have discovered that the microwave-initiated catalytic conversion of plastic can produce both clean hydrogen fuel and high value carbon nano-materials.
