
Jon-Marc McGregor

Jon-Marc McGregor was born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut-Storrs and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Professors Joaquin Resasco and Joan Brennecke. Jon-Marc's academic prowess and dedication have been recognized through various prestigious accolades, including the UT McNair Fellowship, the UT Cockrell School of Engineering (CSE) Graduate Fellowship, the 2024 ACS Leader's Fellowship, and the ExxonMobil Future Leader's Academy PhD Fellowship. His research focus is to deepen the scientific community's understanding of catalysis in electrochemical environments and provide new tools for the design of highly efficient electrolyzers /electro-synthetic cells that convert carbon dioxide to valuable fuels and chemical commodities with the use of intermittent renewable energy.
