A series of bi-dentate ligands have been produced which have long, non-polar tails and relatively polar heads. The synthesis involved a Schiff's based condensation, and can often be run at room temperature. We will present the results of these syntheses, as well as the results of initial trials in producing ligand-metal complexes using various metal salts, and ligand-plastic mixes.
