Overview
Chemical taggants are identifying markers that can be placed on objects and the differences in their chemical composition make them uniquely identifiable. A metal-zeolite taggant system that retains the chemical composition when exposed to harsh conditions has been developed. The reproducibility of the taggant’s chemical composition when its preparation is scaled up has been evaluated. The feasibility of identifying different taggants applied to various objects was tested in a blind experiment.
