Dr. Kofi S.S. Christie

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Princeton University

Kofi Christie is a postdoctoral research associate in the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University. Christie grew up in Atlanta, GA and received his B.S. degree from Morehouse College in 2014, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2016 and 2020, respectively. He worked with Prof. Shihong Lin for his doctoral dissertation, where he sought to advance water treatment and desalination technologies for high-salinity wastewater. At Princeton University, Christie's work explores the intersection of membrane separation and crystal nucleation to sustainably recover solid and liquid resources from wastewater streams associated with seawater desalination facilities and coal-fired power plants. He is the recipient of several academic and professional awards, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps Grant (2020), the Princeton Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship (2020), the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (2015)
