Katelyn Elizabeth Mason received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Fort Lewis College in 2008 and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Montana State University in 2015. In her current role, Katelyn contributes to several research and development projects in the Forensic Science Center (FSC). She also provides chemical and biological analyst support by implementing mass spectrometry-based methodologies in real-world cases of alleged use of chemical and biological warfare agents that impact countries all over the world. She has worked on both biological and environmental forensic projects including development of a new forensic technology that utilize proteinaceous sample sources, mass spectrometry, and bioinformatics to identify humans. She enjoys her dynamic role in the FSC and is very proud to serve and protect the national security of the United States of America.
