Jayce Rhodes is from San Antonio, TX. She studied chemistry and earned a Bachelor's from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her interests in medicinal chemistry led her to study under Dr. McHardy for undergraduate independent research. Her future plans include attending a Ph.D. program, where she will complete research in methodology and total synthesis of complex, biologically active molecules to strengthen the synthetic skills necessary for powerful medchem programs. Her long term goals include a biomedical health related post-doc to utilize synthetic skills gained in graduate school, and gain training in generating grant proposals in order to prepare for a career in academia. Her life-long career goal is to teach and mentor students in the lab and classroom, pressing upon the importance of equity and inclusivity.
