Dr SHARAN K BAGAL PhD CChem FRSC

Sharan K. Bagal is a medicinal chemist working in the U.K. She earned her MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, U.K. (2001), and Ph.D. from the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Jack E. Baldwin and Dr Robert M. Adlington in the field of biomimetic total synthesis (2004). This was followed by postdoctoral research with Professor Samir Z. Zard at École Polytechnique, France, on xanthate based radical chemistry method development before joining Pfizer in 2006. Sharan worked at Pfizer for ten years in the fields of oncology, pain and neuroscience after which she joined the oncology group at AstraZeneca in 2016. She is currently an Associate Director at AstraZeneca based in Cambridge U.K.
