Dr. Amy J. Cairns

Since earning my Ph.D. in 2010, I have held several research and development positions in both academia and industry in the United States and abroad. Currently, I hold a Senior Lab Scientist (Chemist) position at Aramco Americas in the Company's Houston Research Center (February, 2014 - present) where I work in the Production Technology Team (PTT). My research activities are aligned with the development and characterization of innovative oilfield chemical solutions designed to address existing Upstream field challenges for our stakeholders in Saudi Arabia with the objective of enhancing oil and gas production. Over the past seven years, I have primarily focused my efforts on the development, formulation and characterization of alternative acid systems with superior properties to state-of-the-art acid systems allowing for increased hydrocarbon recovery from carbonate reservoirs.
