Mr. Greg Sloan

8th Grade Science Teacher, Vigo County School Corporation

Greg was born and raised in a very small town in Southeastern Indiana along the scenic Ohio River in the tri-state region of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Being a first-generation college student, Greg began his undergraduate program as a music education major at Indiana University but it was his interest in a biology class that lured him into switching his field of study to science education. Greg began teaching science in Terre Haute Indiana in the fall of 1992 and continues to be a Middle School Science teacher there today. Greg received his Master's degree in Administration and Supervision in 1999 from Indiana State University. Over the years, Greg has worked on curriculum development projects and teacher training programs for Pfizer, The Keystone Center, and Beyond Benign where he currently facilitates the "Observe, Wonder, Think" monthly Green Chemistry education webinar series. This curriculum work has allowed Greg to facilitate discussions across the US as well as in Toronto, Canada, and Sydney, Australia. In his spare time, Greg enjoys the culinary arts, biking, kayaking, and photography, recently adding drone photography to his list of new endeavors.
