Barry K. Lavine is a Regents Professor of Chemistry at Oklahoma State University.  Lavine's research interests encompass many aspects of analytical chemistry including infrared and Raman spectroscopy, liquid chromatography, forensic chemistry, and data driven science including pattern recognition, multivariate curve resolution, multivariate calibration and genetic algorithms and other evolutionary techniques. He has published approximately 120 research papers, 22 book chapters, 15 review articles and has edited 3 books.  He is on the editorial board of several journals including Analytical Letters, Journal of Chemometrics, Applied Spectroscopy Reviews, Spectroscopy (2020-), and Sensors (2020-).  In 2015, Lavine was awarded the Kowalski Prize by the Journal of Chemometrics, and was made a Fellow of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy in 2016. Lavine was the recipient of the EAS Award in Chemometrics in 2017 and was made a fellow of the American Chemical Society in 2022.
