I am an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at UMass Amherst. Born in Fujian, China, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2009 and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from The Ohio State University. After that, I worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2018 and the University of California, Berkeley, from 2018 to 2020. My research interest focuses on developing and applying quantum chemical models for a variety of complex and exotic systems, including those involved in heterogeneous catalysis, organic electronics, and astrophysical chemistry. A few prestigious awards for junior scientists have recognized my research accomplishment, including the ACS Physical Chemistry Young Investigator Award in 2019 and the Ohio State Presidential Fellowship in 2014. When I am not at work, I enjoy exploring the beautiful nature at Amherst with my husband and my naughty and strong two-year-old daughter.
