Dr Brian T Hopkins Ph.D

Biography: Brian Hopkins received his Ph.D. in 2000 from the State University Of New York at Buffalo, under the supervision of Professor Wayne K. Anderson, Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. Following postdoctoral studies with Professor Anthony G. M. Barrett, FRS FMedSci, at Imperial College London, he returned to the states to join Infinity Pharmaceuticals in 2002. During this period, his research interests focused on identifying small molecules for the treatment of oncology indications; most notable was his contributions as the BCL-2 medicinal chemistry program lead. In 2007, he joined Biogen to lead small molecule programs within the department of medicinal chemistry to identify new therapies for neuroimmunology indications leading to the discovery of several drug candidates currently in clinical development.
