Dr. Baikun Li is the Professor of Environmental Engineering at University of Connecticut. Her research is in the frontier field of environmental biochemistry, environmental sensor development, system monitoring and control, and biomass resource recovery. She has supervised over 40 graduate students, including 16 Ph.D students, and published about 200 journal papers. She has been dedicated to women engineering education, research and outreaches, especially integrate environmental sensing technology into classroom and lab demos, and promote the awareness of women scientists and engineers in "digital water" and "digital soil" fields. She has closely collaborated with industrial partners for miniature water/soil sensor prototype development for real-time in situ monitoring.
