Dr. Fatima Jalid Assistant Professor

Dr. Fatima Jalid works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Srinagar. Since 2016, she was working as a Trainee Faculty at NIT Srinagar, while simultaneously doing her Doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Dr. Fatima received a gold medal in B.Tech Chemical Engineering from NIT Srinagar in 2015. She has also been a recipient of Gandhian Young Technological Award, 2018.  She works in the area of computational catalysis, specifically on understanding transformations of hydrocarbons using ab initio microkinetic modelling. She has explored a number of reactions - hydrodeoxygenation, non-oxidative dehydrogenation, biogas reforming, CO2 assisted oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane employing microkinetic modelling and density functional theory calculations, which have been published in reputed journals. Besides research and teaching, she spends time in reading, photography and writing.
