I received my B.S. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado-Boulder. I am interested in protein-protein interactions, whether they involve protein kinases (such as yeast Hog1 or human Mps1) or protein phosphatases (yeast Ptp2 and Ptp3). At the USDA-ARS, my current research is focused on finding solutions to food allergies, specifically allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. My research now focuses on protein-protein interactions between IgE antibodies and food allergens such as the Ana o 3 immuno-dominant cashew nut allergen, although I have also continued my interest in the human Mps1 kinase and the proteins it interacts with such as CytospinA/SPECC1L.
