Shana Havenridge

Graduate Research Assistant, Kansas State University

Shana Havenridge is a third year PhD student in Physical Chemistry at Kansas State University. She has obtained her MS in Applied Mathematics, 2018 at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. She received her BS at Doane University, Nebraska in 2017 where she double majored in Mathematics and Chemistry. Shana's current research revolves around the role of photoluminescence in different gold and silver nanoclusters. She has done method development work that focuses on the analytical gradient derivation for TDDFT+TB as well as the involvement of this gradient implementation in conjunction with FSSH for nonadiabatic phenomena. She has collaborated with experimental groups to try and understand ground and excited state properties by analyzing different nanoparticles along with their corresponding ligands. Her past research involves colorimetric sensor arrays, the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction, Dip Pen Nanolithography, organic inkjet printing and cocrystal synthesis.
