IP in higher education - a chemistry professor's journey into patent law.

What is the role of IP in institutions of higher education? Should faculty patent inventions or give their inventions to the public? How can faculty and students be encouraged to created IP? Can a prelaw program be built on STEM and patent law? To answer these questions we will follow the journey of one chemistry professor out of the lab and into the legal office. We will explore how this journey changed the professor's interactions with faculty, students, and the university. If you have an interest in patent law and how to grow the role of IP at your college or university, you will want to attend this presentation.
