Yutao Chen completed his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Emphasis) from the University of Miami. He is continuing to pursue his PhD degree in the same major at the University of Miami and working for Dr. Helena Solo-Gabriele. His current project, led by Dr. Helena Solo-Gabriele of the University of Miami and Dr. Timothy G. Townsend of the University of Florida, focuses on Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) funded by Hinkley Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management. Yutao Chen started collecting leachate samples from different landfills in Florida since January 1st, 2019 and had presented his research during the Technical Awareness Group (TAG) meetings, a requirement for the Hinkley Center projects. He is currently preparing for future leachate sampling and analyzing PFAS results from various types of landfill leachates.
