Dr Yulan Hernandez
Full time lecturer, Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru
I was licensed in Chemistry Science in 2009 at the University of Valladolid (Spain), followed by two Masters in Organic Chemistry and Chemical Research. Then I started my Ph.D. in the Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon (Spain) with Dr. Jesus M. de la Fuente, and during it, I made a predoctoral stay of 1 year at Miguel Servet Hospital. In 2009 I defended my doctoral thesis titled "Functionalization of gold nanoparticles for gene therapy", and I started my postdoctoral stage in the same research institute.
Since 2015 I work in the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, where I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses while working as a researcher in the research group of Chemical Research and Nanoplasmonics (QNano+). My work focuses on the synthesis and functionalization of gold and silver nanoparticles and their application as biosensors and nanomedicine. I have published 17 research papers, 1 book chapter, and 5 divulgation papers, among other activities.
