Dr. Wu Xu is currently a Chief Scientist in the Energy Processes and Materials Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from National University of Singapore in early 2000. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Faculty Research Associate in Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Arizona State University, then a Senior Scientist in Ferro Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio. His research interests include the development of battery materials (electrolytes and electrodes) and the investigation of electrode/electrolyte interphases for various energy storage systems including lithium batteries, organic redox flow batteries and supercapacitors. Currently he has about 200 papers published in peer reviewed journals and has an H-index of 82. He is also a coauthor of 1 book and 7 book chapters and holds 33 U.S. patents granted.
