Dr. Weiqiang Zhang is a research chemist in USDA-ARS, Pollinator Health in Southern Crop Ecosystem Research Unit (Stoneville, MS). His current research programs focus on developing innovative concepts, strategies, and methodologies to protect bees and pollinators due to spray drift and off-target losses from pesticide application. Dr. Zhang received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Henan Normal University (China) and M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from Hunan University (China). He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wales, Swansea (UK). Prior to his current job, Dr. Zhang did his postdoc training and was a faculty member in the Department of Physiology and Department of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Memphis, TN), working on a variety of topics at the interface of Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine.
