I am Vilashini Rajaratnam. Feel free to call me Vila. I'm, currently, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA.

My major areas of research: Analytical Chemistry focusing on mass spectrometry, pharmacokinetics, pre-clinical drug development, and tumor biology.

My instrumental skills: LC-MS (Q, QQQ, IT-TOF), ICP-MS (Q), GC-MS (Q), MALDI-MS (TOF-TOF), HPLC, UPLC, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fluorescence microscopy, UV-Vis & Fluorescence Spectroscopy

Other skills: Western Blotting, in vitro biochemical assays, Education (Chemistry)

I am also working for the Shimadzu Laboratory for Advanced and Applied Analytical Chemistry. The Shimadzu Laboratory for Advanced and Applied Analytical Chemistry is an integrated Mass Spectrometry Facility Laboratory housed in UWM's Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex. My job is to aid with day-to-day operations and maintaining high levels of system operability; and includes work-flow management, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and data acquisition and interpretation. I also provide instruction in instrument operation and supports the research of facilities users.
