Victor Sanfins Cecon

Victor is a 3rd-year doctoral student and graduate research assistant in Food Science and Technology at Iowa State University supervised by Dr. Keith Vorst. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar, Brazil) in 2019, being a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia (UBC, Canada) for one year. He was also an R&D intern for 1.5 years at 3M Brazil, working with the processing and characterization of polymers containing hollow glass microspheres. His doctoral research investigates mechanical and chemical recycling of post-industrial and post-consumer plastic waste in the Chemical Upcycling of Waste Plastics, a multi-university center funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE).
