Mr. Tianruo Shen

I am a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) candidate supervised by Asst. Prof. Xiaogang Liu at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). I received my Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree from SUTD in September 2021. During my M.Eng. program, I spent two years at the Fluorescence Research Group in SUTD. My M.Eng. research was focused on the structure-property relationships of isomeric fluorophores. Afterwards, I continue to pursue my doctoral studies at SUTD. My current research interests encompass the interpretation of fluorescence quenching mechanisms, novel applications of functionalized fluorophores, and development of the fluorescence-based pedagogical tools.
