Professor Thorsteinn Loftsson PhD

Thorsteinn Loftsson is a professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Iceland.  He is the cofounder of Oculis (www.oculis.com) and served as its Chief Research and Technology Officer from November 2017 until to February 2023.  Earlier he was the cofounder of Cyclops and Lipid Pharmaceuticals.  Dr. Loftsson has authored and coauthored more than 350 peer-reviewed papers in addition of number of book chapters.  He authored two books, Drug Stability for Pharmaceutical Scientists (2014) and Essential Pharmacokinetics, a Primer for Pharmaceutical Scientists (2015).  Dr. Loftsson is the inventor or coinventor of more than 17 patent families.  He is a fellow of the AAPS and on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals.  Dr. Loftsson was recognized as one of the World's Most Influential Minds by Thomson Reuters.
