Thomas Orlano is Professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Adjunct. Professor in the School of Physics of Georgia Institute of Technology (GT).  He was Co-founder and former Director  of the GT Center for Space Technology and Research and also Associate Director of the Strategic Energy Institute.  He currently serves as the Principal Investigator of Radaition Effects on Asteroids and Lunasr Surfaces (REVEALS).  REVEALS is a NASA Solar System Exploration Virtual Research Institute that focuses on understand the role of the solar wind in space weathering the airless bodies as well as the development of novel surfaces and materials that can be used to mitigate risks during human exploration of near Earth destinations.
