Quality Assurance Manager, Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division

Theresa DeAngelo is the Quality Assurance and Safety Manager for the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division where she oversees the Quality Assurance activities for approximately 100 employees within the State's three laboratories and thirteen Crime Scene Offices located throughout Maryland. Theresa's previous positions within the field of forensic science include four years as the Coordinator for the Maryland State Forensic Laboratories Oversight Program and several years of service working within the Baltimore City Police Department Crime Laboratory in their Crime Scene Unit as well as their Controlled Dangerous Substances Unit. Theresa has worked within the Forensic Services Section for the Baltimore County Police Department in Maryland as well. In addition to her experiences in Maryland, Theresa has several years of service with the New York City Police Department Crime Laboratory in their Controlled Substance Analysis, Criminalistics and Case Management Sections. Theresa holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Master's of Science Degree in Forensic Science from Towson University.  She is currently the Ethics Chair Elect for the PROF Division for the American Chemical Society (ACS), an active Member of the Association for Forensic Quality Assurance Managers (AFQAM), an active Member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists (MAAFS), and an Associate Member of the American Academy of Forensic Scientists (AAFS).
