Dr. Thalita Boldrin Zanoni currently leads the R&D Innovation Team that aims to develop 3D advanced complex in vitro cell models and microfluidics technology (MPS), also known as Organs-on-Chip technology, at the Genetic Toxicology Department in Charles River Laboratories (Senneville, Canada). These new technologies, are alternatives for animal testing that could potentially advance pre-clinical trials. The team is currently working on a system that is capable of delivering all the current endpoints required by regulators, however, it is more streamlined, animal-free and more human-relevant than current assays.
