Chemotherapy becomes more challenging when multidrug-resistant strains of numerous diseases arise. This study's primary goal was to assess the antibacterial activity of plant extracts from Senna singueana and Cyphostemma junceum against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Using accepted techniques, the crude extracts of the chosen medicinal plants were made and then exposed to phytochemical screening. The disc diffusion method was utilized to ascertain the antibacterial activity. Thus, ethanol stem bark extracts and chloroform root extracts of Senna singueana produced the highest (15.41%) and lowest (0.91%) percentage yields, respectively. . Senna singueana leaf extracts in distilled water and chloroform were shown to have the lowest (7.5±0.5 mm) and largest (14±1.0 mm) zones of inhibition against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, respectively. In addition, Cyphostemma junceun root extract at 125 µg/ml produced the largest (13.5±1.0) zone of inhibition. At 500 µg/ml, no inhibitory zones were found in the Cyphostemma junceun root extract. Flavonoids, tennins, phenols, glycosides, terpenoids, and sapnoids—among the more abundant secondary metabolites—were extracted from distilled water leaf extracts, whereas ethanol root extracts of Cyphostemma junceum contained flavonoids, tennis, phenols, glycosides, terpenoids, sapnoids, and coumarins. Senna singueana leaves, stem bark, and root, along with Cyphostemma junceun root, exhibit potent antibacterial activity against both types of bacteria. As a result, the two plant extracts may be utilized to treat and eradicate bacterial agents, which may serve as sources for new pharmaceuticals.
