Dr Sylvie K Sakata PhD

Sylvie Sakata is currently the Head of External Research Solutions  (ERS) at Pfizer Inc. based in La Jolla, California.  She leads a global team supporting  Chemistry  and  Technology sourcing from Discovery to First clinical lot supply chain for all small molecule projects. She received her B.S at UCI in 1993 and obtained her PhD in 1998 with Professor Larry Overman. She started at Agouron Pharm. in CRD working in various anti-viral programs.  In 2001, she moved to  Med Chem and managed all chemistry sourcing for Pfizer LJ site. Her role then expanded to include all chemistry sourcing management for Pfizer Nagoya.  In 2008, as ERS Regional West lead, she further expanded her remit to include Biology, Reagent Provision, and DMPK services for many global therapeutic areas.   She has experience in setting up innovative strategies and implementation of novel business models, operations, integrated capabilities, and development of tools to integrate work with CROs/academics/biotechs.
