Susan K Cardinal
STEM Librarian, University of Rochester
Sue Cardinal has been the STEM Librarian at the University of Rochester for 20 years. Prior to this Sue worked at Syracuse University's H. Douglas Barclay Law Library, while obtaining her MLS. Previously she earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Iowa and worked for several years for a small startup company followed by employment at an environmental laboratory, where she worked as supervisor of the firm's organic extractions lab. Inspired by her predecessor and mentor, Arleen Somerville, she became active in ACS CINF in 2001 first as secretary, then as CINF Chemical Education Committee Co-Chair, then Teller, and Careers Committee Co-Chair. She was the ACS CINF Program Planner from 2019 - 2020. Currently she is the Chair-Elect. She is also active in SLA Chemistry Division and teaches "Chemistry for the Non-Chemistry Librarian" with CINF colleague Judith Currano. She was one of several co-authors of the References chapter in the ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication.
