Dr Surajit Rakshit received PhD in Chemistry from the S N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, India in 2014 and did postdoctoral work at the Institute of Basic Science, South Korea from 2014-17. He joined the Department of Chemistry, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Calcutta University in June 2017 as an assistant professor and in October 2017, he moved to the Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, India. His current research interests lie in the field of biophysical chemistry with a focus on ultrafast spectroscopic studies of disordered proteins to study the fundamental nature of therapeutically relevant protein structure, function and dynamics.
