Dr. Sungwook Hong

Sungwook Hong, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Engineering at Calfironia State University, Bakersfield (CSUB). Prior to joining CSUB, he was a postdoctoral scholar at University of Southern California from 2016 to 2019. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mechanincal Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University in 2016; and received M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Enginering at Kyunghee University in South Korea in 2009 and 2007, respectively. He is an expert in aomic scale modeling and simulations of chemical/physical processes of complex nanostrcutured systems using reactive and quantum molecular dynamics simultaions. His current research intestes includes computational syntheis of 2D layered materials, and combustion performance of metal nanoparticles using organic coatings.
