Stephen Galdi

Ph.D. Candidate, Stanford University

Stephen is a fifth year Ph.D. Candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, researching barriers to the adoption of mainstream anaerobic wastewater treatment and non-potable water reuse. He is advised by Professor Richard Luthy, and has been closely involved with the NSF Engineering Research Center for Re-inventing the Nation's Urban Water Infrastructure. His research has been conducted at pilot scale using the facilities at the Codiga Resource Recovery Center, and much of his work is in preparation to be published late this year or next. Working near utilities, regulators, and engineers on his pilot studies have inspired a broad interest in sustainability, infrastructure, and policy that he hopes to take include in his career after graduate school.
