Stephanie Dingwall is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Her PhD work involved characterizing metalloenzymes using biochemical and biophysical techniques. Since joining UCR as a faculty member, her focus has pivoted to biochemical pedagogy, primarily learning and retaining difficult biochemical concepts. Her former students have contributed to the research by creating course material that has now been incorporated into her classes, hence having students participate directly in curriculum development in biochemistry.
Dr. Dingwall's course load ranges from introductory biochemistry - a service course for non-majors - to introductory biochemistry laboratory and general metabolism for biochemistry majors. She is a University Honors Faculty Fellow, one of eight at UCR, and teaches Honors courses as well. This year, she was nominated to the Academy of Distinguished Teaching at UCR.
