Dr. Steffen Wolf
Steffen Wolf is Principal Investigator at the Institute of Physics of the University of Freiburg, Germany, since 2021. He studied Chemistry at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and obtained a PhD in computational biophysics at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, in 2009. After postdocs at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA and the MGP/CAS PCIB Shanghai, P.R. China, he joined the Department of Biomolecular Dynamics at Freiburg in 2016 and obtained his habilitation in Physics in 2021. He was awarded, e.g., a Fellowship for Young International Scientists by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2012) or the prize for outstanding publication of the PICB (2013). His research interests can be found at the interface between biochemistry, biophysics and biological physics. His group focusses on the coarse-graining and understanding of dynamics of protein-ligand complexes as well as their coupling with allosteric information transfer through proteins.
