Stefani earned her BA in Biological Sciences from Dartmouth College and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Southern California. After completing postdoctoral training in Dr. Robert Cotter's laboratory at Johns Hopkins University, she joined the Center for Biomarker Discovery and Translation at Johns Hopkins as a Research Associate where she conducted mass spectrometry-based clinical proteomics research. Dr. Thomas completed Clinical Chemistry postdoctoral fellowship training at Johns Hopkins, and she is board-certified by the National Registry of Certified Chemists and the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Stefani joined the University of Minnesota in 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and the Associate Medical Director of the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center West Bank Laboratory. Her research laboratory studies the proteome-level mechanisms of ovarian cancer treatment response.
