Sofia Nunes is a PhD student at the Department of Biochemical Engineering at UCL. Sofia's research focuses on cell harvest and primary recovery. She is developing an ultra scale- down approach for flocculation and centrifugation. Ultra scale-down allows for a rapid understanding of bioprocesses and gives insights on robust manufacturing routes. She previously worked as a data scientist for a consulting firm. She succeeded full data analysis projects with international teams to solve problems in the Bio-industry. She had her MSc and BSc in Chemical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. Her master's thesis focused on using design of experiments to improve chromatography.
