Shoshana is a fourth year graduate student in the lab of Eric Appel at Stanford University. Her work focuses on the development of bioactive polymers as next-generation antibiotics. She is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a Sarafan ChEM-H Chem/Bio Interface trainee. She earned her AB from Barnard College, where she studied Chemistry and Religion. Her undergraduate research in the lab of Rachel Austin focused on exploring the structure and function of the alkane monooxygenase enzyme AlkB.
