Dr. Scott A Williams

Professor, Inorganic Chemistry, Rochester Institute of Technology

Dr. Scott Williams is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, and Director of the Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program at RIT. His current research focusses on next generation semiconductor doping using a monolayer decomposition approach. Dopant molecular complexes are designed and synthesized to exhibit specific semiconductor surface bonding, as well as, predictable thermal decomposition profiles in order to control the rate and depth of dopant migration. Dr. Williams also is involved as the materials chemist in the RIT AMPrint initiative whereby materials are developed to fabricate electronic, structural and optical structures using the printing technique. Research has involved the print deposition of molecular complexes that decompose into conductive metallic traces, as well as, ceramic structures with designed functionality.
