Sarah M Harris

Assistant Professor of Chemistry/Biochemistry, Benedictine College

Sarah M. Harris received her undergraduate education at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA (B.A. 2012) where she researched in the field of bioinorganic chemistry on a project for the heterogeneous bioconjugation via azide-ethynyl coupling in aqueous solutions for four years in the group of Professor Michael G. Hill. She then moved to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (Ph.D. 2017) to join the lab of Valérie C. Pierre where she researched recognition of cations and anions by lanthanide complexes. She then accepted a two year Visiting Assistant Professor position at SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and now is an Assistant Professor at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. Her general research interests lie in inorganic applications with metals present in everything around us: often colorful or magnetic, and capable of providing key solutions to solving medical or environmental related crises.
