Rhett Kempe is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Bayreuth since 2002. His research interests are metal-metal bonding and the development of novel catalyst systems. He did his PHD with J. Sieler, postdoced with Prof. R. R. Schrock (MIT) and Prof. C. Krüger (MPI für Kohlenforschung). In 2000/2001, he moved as a visiting lecturer to the University of Melbourne (Prof. R. Robson's group) and became Prof. of Inorganic Chemistry in Oldenburg. Since 2009, he has been the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry, and Geosciences.
