Catalysts are inherently dynamic in nature and are greatly influenced by the evolution of not only their structure and active sites, but also the surrounding local environment. This symposium will show the latest experimental and theoretical advances in understanding catalyst dynamics, especially under reaction conditions, including catalyst dynamics that result in reaction rate and product selectivity enhancements. This symposium will bring together experts in electrocatalysis, thermal catalysis, spectroscopy, transient kinetics, molecular modeling, and theory. Topics include but are not limited to: 1) Programmable catalysts for reactivity and selectivity enhancements; 2) Modeling and theoretical advances in modeling catalyst dynamics; 3) Dynamic phenomena unifying thermal and electrocatalysis; 4) Spectroscopic advances in understanding catalyst dynamics
