Dr. Rebecca E Black

Associate Professor of Chemistry at New College of Florida interested in developing inclusive curriculum, teaching scientific writing and other professional skills in my courses, engaging undergraduate students in the classroom and the chemistry laboratory. My chemical education research focuses studying students' perceived attitudes and gains from engaging in a variety of active learning activities, from writing-enhanced labs to information literacy-focused research projects. My laboratory research is focused on the synthesis of functionalized BIPHEP-type ligands and their metal complexes for use in acceptorless dehydrogenation catalysis.
