Dr. Prabhat Prakash

Early Career Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar

Prabhat Prakash is an Early Career Postdoc at the division of materials engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India. Prakash received his BSc and MSc degree from Banaras Hindu University, as a DST-INSPIRE fellow. Prakash graduated in theoretical physical chemistry from IISER Pune while working on the modeling and simulating of materials for efficient carbon capture and lithium ion batteries. On the battery electrolytes, he worked as a Foreign Fulbright Doctoral Researcher at Temple University with Prof. Michael Zdilla.

Presently, he works on the molecular modeling of solid electrolytes and co-crystalline materials, which can be a viable alternative to current generation liquid electrolytes for lithium/sodium ion batteries. He uses quantum chemistry and molecular dynamic simulations to examine the structural, dynamical, and mechanical properties of the new generation battery materials.
