Dr. Bai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. He obtained his B.E. (2007) and Ph.D. (2012) degrees from Tsinghua University and completed his postdoctoral training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Bai's research group is specialized in the theoretical electrochemistry of battery materials and optical operando electroanalytical methods. His work has been recognized by the 2014 Oronzio and Niccolò De Nora Foundation Young Author Prize and the 2018 Prize for Electrochemical Materials Science from the International Society of Electrochemistry. He received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2020, and the NSF Career Award in 2021.
