Ouro Koumai is currently an environmental engineer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and also a PhD student at the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of Cincinnati. Ouro is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a Field Medical service technician with the 2nd Marine Division's 2nd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, NC.
Ouro is originally from Lomé, Togo, where he attended both the primary and high school education. After graduating from the University of Benin, Ouro taught Physics and Chemistry at Baccalaureate level before moving to the US. Ouro later obtained a master's degree in water resources engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental and Forestry, in Syracuse, NY.
